About me
I am an experienced and hardworking journalist and copywriter. Previous clients have included Channel 4, Channel 5, The Guardian, The Times and The Irish Times. In recent years, I've focused on technology, infrastructure, environmental issues and politics. I thrive on writing accessible articles about technical subjects.
Over the years, I've worked as a freelancer for national media. For a decade, I was a cricket correspondent for broadsheets and TV channels. Back in 2015, I co-founded and edited the green business magazine Salt, which had famous fans like Vivienne Westwood and Tim Berners-Lee. I now write a lot for trade magazines, especially in the technology, automotive, aviation and built environment sectors. I also do copywriting for Haynes MarComs Marketing Agency and Emerald Group Publishing.

Before moving to York in 2007, I lived in London for 12 years. For a few years I worked as a sub-editor at the Irish Post and The Times Business desk, where I developed an unerring eye for detail. After moving to York , I concentrated solely on my writing career.
Following a degree in Philosophy and Psychology at Lancaster University, I taught English in Italy and France for four years and learned to speak the languages fluently. After training at Stradbroke College, in Sheffield, my first job as a journalist was at the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph. I then moved to London.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing cricket and chess. I also love literature; classical, jazz and pop music; and fell walking.
